Original Title: 12A Railway Colony
MOVIE
So I was supposed to be asleep but ngl, I lowkey couldn't resist finishing 12A Railway Colony Uncovered - if you're wondering why I'm typing all fast & messy, that's why. I mean, I finally got to the end of it & trust me, my eyes are literally dying from exhaustion but I'm still here, hitting these keys like a maniac, because honestly, this movie - it was good, like really good, I mean damn it was solid.
I swear, the plot was so gripping - it's like I was on a rollercoaster, one minute I'm laughing, next I'm crying & then I'm just sitting there, mouth agape, wondering wth just happened - it was intense. The acting was top notch too - I mean, I've seen some of these actors before but they were on another level in this one - honestly, I was blown away. But then the ending - oh man, the ending - it was kinda rushed, like they suddenly realised they were running out of time & had to wrap it up quickly - was a bit dissapointed with that tho.
But then there were these moments, these beautiful, heart-wrenching moments that just made me forget about the rushed ending & everything else - I mean, there's this one scene where the protagonist is standing on the platform, watching as the love of his life leaves on a train & you can literally see his heart breaking - I was a mess, not gonna lie. And then there's the soundtrack - it's like if Hans Zimmer & A R Rahman had a baby & that baby grew up listening to too much indie pop - it was weirdly perfect.
(Oh btw, this reminded me of that time I watched Titanic in a freezing theater - I was shivering & crying at the same time, good times.) But back to 12A Railway Colony Uncovered - I watched it after work, with my roommate who hated it btw - said it was too dramatic & unrealistic - but I kinda loved it. It was like a break from reality, you know? An escape into a world where everything is heightened & every emotion is magnified - it was beautiful, in a wierd, messed up way.
I loved it... well actually, parts of it annoyed me - like the unnecessary plot twists & the over the top dialogues - but overall yeah, I loved it. It was raw, it was real & it was, in its own strange way, relatable. I mean, sure, I've never lived in a railway colony or had a love story that could rival a Bollywood movie, but the emotions - the joy, the pain, the love, the loss - it was all too familiar.
(Side note - this movie kinda reminded me of my ex, don't ask why lol.) But anyway, if you like movies that tug at your heartstrings & make you question your life choices, then this is the one for you. It's not perfect, far from it actually - there were parts that were cliched & predictable, & the ending could have been better - but it's worth a watch, you know? Fr fr.
Final VerdictSo yeah, that's my review of 12A Railway Colony Uncovered - a rollercoaster of emotions that left me drained but satisfied. It's not for everyone - if you're into action & thrills, then you might wanna skip this one - but if you're like me & you appreciate a good love story with a dash of drama, then give it a shot. I mean, what's the worst that could happen, right? You might just end up loving it as much as I did. Or hating it like my roommate. Either way, it's an experience you won't forget anytime soon.
