Original Title: The Task
MOVIE
So I was supposed to be asleep but - let's be real - sleep's overrated when there's a new flick to watch, right? Just finished this movie called The Task Unveiled & honestly - I'm vibing with it. You know when you're not expecting much & then bam - it just hits you with all the feels? That's what happened.
The plot's about this girl - Siri from Madikeri - who's visiting her relatives in Bengaluru during the Dasara vacation. Randomly, she sees some messed-up stuff happening to an ambulance driver & decides to step up - like, lowkey became a hero type thing. Her parents are freaking out tho, worried about their daughter's life & stuff - & I mean, I get it - but she's just not backing down. Definately a gutsy move.
I was hooked, not gonna lie. I mean, the storyline was a bit wierd at first - like, why's a SSLC student getting involved in this kind of drama, you know? But then it kinda grew on me - like if Harry Potter decided to become a social justice warrior - seperate from all that magic & Voldemort stuff. It's like The Office & Inception had a baby & that baby watched too much TikTok - if that makes sense?
I loved it - well, actually some parts did annoy me - like, they could've made the story flow better. It felt a bit choppy, jumping from one scene to another with no clear connection. But overall, yeah I loved it. It was good, like really good. I mean damn it was solid. The plot twist towards the end - didn't see it coming. It was like - boom - out of nowhere.
(side note - I watched this after work & my roommate hated it. Said it was too over the top, but I think they were just salty because it reminded them of their ex somehow lol. But that's a story for another time.)
I was confused at times, ngl. But the thing is - it kept me hooked, you know? I wanted to know what happened next, even when I was kinda lost. And the ending - it occured to me that it was left open for a sequel. I'm deadass excited for that. I want to see what happens to Siri & the ambulance driver. Will the parents accept her decision? Will she finally get justice for the driver? The suspense is killing me.
Overall, this movie was amazing - like, it really surprised me. I mean, I was just supposed to be passing time, but it turned out to be so much more. I'm gonna recommend it to my sister & see what she thinks. But till then, I'm gonna be over here, thinking about that sequel, tho. Like, I need it now, you know? Fr fr.
