Zootopia 2 Review: A Delightful Sequel in the Urban Jungle

Original Title: Zootopia 2

MOVIE

So it's 1am & I just finished watching Zootopia 2 - NGL, I was supposed to be asleep but my sister recommended this & I was like "why not?". And honestly - it was good, like really good, I mean damn it was solid. The plot was all over the place - like if The Office & Inception had a baby & that baby watched too much TikTok. But it was good tho - really good.

Judy and Nick, our favorite cop duo, are back at it again - and this time they're going undercover. I mean, who doesn't love a good undercover story, right? And Gary De'Snake - man, that guy is a trip. He's like the villain you love to hate, you know? But he definately added a whole new layer to the story. Also - side note - the theater was freezing. I mean, who keeps a theater that cold?

I'm not gonna lie - I was a little confused at first. There were so many twists & turns - it was like trying to follow a maze. But once I got into it, I was hooked. Like, I was supposed to be asleep hours ago, but I couldn't stop watching. It reminded me of when I watched the first Zootopia - I was just as hooked then. And can I just say - the animation was top notch. Like, it's 2022 & we're still making cartoons look this good? Highkey impressive.

But let's talk about Judy & Nick. Their partnership in this film is tested in so many ways & it's honestly amazing to watch. Their dynamic is like nothing I've ever seen before - it's like they're partners, but also best friends, but also kind of more? It's wierd, but in the best way. And their undercover work - I was deadass on the edge of my seat the whole time. I mean, who knew a bunny & a fox could be so badass?

I gotta say though - there were parts that annoyed me. Like, why do they keep seperating Judy & Nick? It's like they're trying to create drama for drama's sake. And some of the jokes were a little too on the nose - like we get it, it's a city full of animals. But overall, I loved it. I mean, I'm sitting here at 1am writing this review when I should be asleep - that's how much I loved it.

So yeah, that's my take on Zootopia 2. It was a wild ride, but a good one. If you're a fan of the first movie, or if you just love a good animated film, you should definitely check it out. I mean, it's not perfect, but it's a lot of fun. And honestly, isn't that what movies are all about? Having fun? Anyway, I'm gonna go to bed now. But seriously - go watch Zootopia 2. You won't regret it.
