Gustaakh Ishq Review: An Exploration of Bold Love

aight so I was supposed to be asleep but my sister recommended this movie & honestly - I was hooked from the start. Gustaakh Ishq, man - it's like an emotional rollercoaster - had me laughing one minute & tearing up the next - I mean, I didn't know what to expect. The story's about this guy called Pappan - total failure & dreaming of reviving his dad's legacy - you know?

So the setting is pretty dope - Old Delhi & Malerkotla in Punjab - really colorful & alive - kinda like if The Office & Inception had a baby & that baby watched too much Bollywood, you know? The plot was solid - had me guessing the whole time, ngl. Plus, the acting - omg - it was good, like really good. I mean damn, it was solid. I was deadass impressed - these guys put in work.

But there were parts that annoyed me tho - like the pacing was kinda off & the music was a bit too loud at times - but overall yeah I loved it. I mean, it had its flaws but it was still a great watch. The characters were well developed & the story was interesting - it kept me hooked untill the end. Also, the dialogues were so real & relatable - I found myself nodding along like yeah, I feel that.

One thing that struck me though was the exploration of love - it wasn't your typical Bollywood romance - it was more raw & real - it was like watching a real relationship unfold on screen - I mean, it was pretty intense. Oh btw, this reminded me of when I watched Dil Chahta Hai - both movies have this depth & complexity to them that's just - wow - you know?

Another thing - the ending was kinda unexpected - I won't give anything away but it was definitely a surprise. It left me feeling kinda confused - like, did that really just happen? But in a good way - it was a satisfying end to a rollercoaster of a movie.

Oh and I watched this after work - was so tired but couldn't stop watching - it was that good. My roommate hated it though - said it was too slow for her taste - but what does she know, right? Anyway, if you're into movies that make you think & feel, give Gustaakh Ishq a shot - it's not perfect but it's definitely worth a watch. And it reminded me of my ex somehow lol - I mean, not in a bad way, but just the whole love story thing - kinda made me miss her, you know?

So yeah, that's my review - Gustaakh Ishq - solid movie, great acting, interesting story, beautiful setting - a bit slow at times & the music was kinda loud - but overall, a great watch. You should definately check it out - it's worth it, fr fr.
