Original Title: Anaconda
MOVIE
okay so ngl - I was supposed to be asleep but my roommate was like "dude we HAVE to watch Anaconda Unwrapped: A Thrilling Ride into the Jungle - I mean it's like if The Office & Inception had a baby & that baby watched too much TikTok" - & I was like "wtf does that even mean" but I was intrigued & tired & it was better than counting sheep - so we watched it.
& like - wow - it was good, like really good, I mean damn it was solid - I was honestly suprised - my expectations were lowkey in the gutter but it was kinda awesome - the plot was this group of friends on a mid-life crisis adventure to remake their fav movie - sounds wierd right? But it's like - relatable in a way - i mean haven't we all wanted to do something crazy & nostalgic at some point - & they go to the freaking rainforest - like that's deadass commitment right there - & the plot just spirals from there - like they're in the jungle & then BAM - natural disasters, giant snakes, violent criminals - it's like they can't catch a break - & it's not just action - it's hilarious too - the characters are like bumbling idiots - but in a good way - & the dialogue is just so sharp - I was laughing my ass off - & then scared shitless the next minute - it was a wild ride fr fr.
But like there were parts of it that annoyed me - like one of the characters - I forget his name - the one with the beard - he was just so irritating - like his jokes weren't funny & he was always causing problems - but then again he was kinda endearing in a way - like you wanted to hate him but you couldn't - it was wierd - & then there were some parts of the plot that just didn't make sense - like how did they find a fully stocked bar in the middle of the jungle - I mean come on, really? - but I guess it added to the humor - & the end was just so confusing - like did they get out of the jungle or not? - I guess it's open to interpretation - but like I wanna know - it's gonna keep me up all night - oh & btw this reminded me of when I watched Jumanji - like the whole jungle adventure vibe - it was cool though - & the CGI was surprisingly decent - like the snakes looked real af - it was kinda chilling - but it was good - I mean it was good - like really good - I'm still shocked - I didn't think I'd like it this much - but I definately did.
& then there's the acting - I mean it was decent - not Oscar-worthy but it was solid - the characters were believable - & the chemistry between them was palpable - like they really seemed like a group of old friends - & the villain was just so good - like you loved to hate him - & the way he played off the others was just so entertaining - & the direction was on point - like the pacing was good - it kept you on the edge of your seat - & the shots were just so beautiful - like they really captured the beauty & danger of the jungle - & the sound design - man the sound design - it was just so immersive - like you could hear every rustle & hiss - it was intense.
So yeah - Anaconda Unwrapped: A Thrilling Ride into the Jungle - it was a ride alright - a crazy, hilarious, terrifying ride - & I loved it - well actually parts of it annoyed me - but overall yeah I loved it - & I think you will too - so go watch it - like right now - I mean it's 1am & I'm supposed to be asleep but here I am writing this review - & it's not just cause I can't sleep - it's cause this movie is worth staying up for - & I think you'll agree - so go on - go watch it - you won't regret it - I mean you might - but I don't think you will - I hope you won't - okay I'm gonna stop now - go watch the movie - I'm going to bed - goodnight -
