Original Title: Mastiii 4
MOVIE
so I was supposed to be asleep but like I just finished watching Mastiiii 4 right? - & I gotta say, I wasn't expecting much going in - but ngl, this movie was a wild ride - like literally a roller coaster of high-spirited comedy - it was good, like really good, I mean damn it was solid. I was just sitting there in my room, lights off, under the covers, phone screen lighting up my face (my roommate prolly thinks I'm wierd) - & I just couldn't stop laughing - the jokes were just hitting left & right - I mean, you know me, I love a good comedy, & this one definately did not disappoint.
My sister recommended this & honestly, I thought she was just pulling my leg - you know how she is, always trying to make me watch these obscure movies that no one's ever heard of - but this time, she was deadass right - I mean, I was laughing so hard, I thought I was gonna wake up the whole house - It's like if the Hangover & Friends had a baby & that baby watched too much TikTok - that's how funny it was. The plot was so absurd yet relatable - three husbands trying to escape their dull marriages & that wild idea that promises them freedom - it was just so hilarious - I mean, who comes up with this stuff? - but hey, it worked & I loved it - well actually, parts of it annoyed me but overall yeah, I loved it.
Though there was this one scene - oh man, it was hysterical - the husbands are trying to explain their plan to each other & the comedic timing was just perfect - I mean, I was literally rolling on the floor laughing - & then there was this other scene, where they're having second thoughts & everything is just falling apart - it was both hilarious & kinda sad at the same time - & that's what made it so relatable, you know? - how even in our wildest dreams, things don't always go as planned - & sometimes, the reality is way funnier than the dream itself. But, I gotta admit, there were times when the comedy felt forced - like they were trying too hard to make you laugh - & that kinda took me out of the movie for a bit - but then they'd hit you with another hilarious scene & you'd forget about it.
It was so late when I started watching it, I thought I was gonna fall asleep midway - but the movie kept me hooked till the end - it was just that entertaining - though, I must confess, I had to pause it a couple of times to catch my breath - it was that funny. & let me tell you, the actors did an amazing job - they were so convincing in their roles - I mean, I honestly believed they were these frustrated husbands who were desperate for some excitement - & the chemistry between them was just off the charts - I don't think I've seen such a great ensemble cast in a comedy in a long time. I mean, it all just worked, you know? - the jokes, the plot, the acting - it all came together to create this hilarious comedy roller coaster - I mean, it was just so much fun.
But, lowkey, it also made me think about relationships & how we sometimes take them for granted - & how we often crave for excitement & adventure, but forget to appreciate the stability & comfort that comes with a long-term relationship - it kinda reminded me of my ex somehow lol. I mean, it's easy to dream about a life full of excitement & adventure - but when reality hits, it's often not as glamorous as we imagine - & that's what this movie captured so well - the humor & the heartbreak of reality - it was just so relatable.
So yeah, I loved it - I mean, yeah, some parts were annoying, & some of the jokes fell flat, but overall, it was a great movie - it was funny, it was relatable, it was entertaining - & it made me think - & that's all you can ask for in a movie, right? - so if you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend it - it's a roller coaster of high-spirited comedy that you don't wanna miss.
Oh & btw, I watched this after work - so maybe that's why I found it so funny - I mean, after a long day at work, all you wanna do is relax & laugh, & this movie delivered that in spades - so yeah, if you're looking for a good comedy to unwind after a long day, this is the one - you won't regret it - I mean, I certainly didn't - & I'm honestly considering watching it again - it was just that good.
